Frequently asked questions
Questions,
answered clearly.
Everything you need to know before choosing DB Sites—from pricing and project timings to revisions, hosting and ownership.
01What is included in a new website package?
You’ll receive a completely brand-new website designed specifically around your business—not a generic template reused for everyone. Every part of the design will be shaped to reflect what your business does, who it serves and the impression you want to make online.
You’ll also receive regular progress updates throughout the project, so you can see your website taking shape and stay involved along the way. The result will be a distinctive, professional website that feels genuinely connected to your business.
02What information will DB Sites need?
The information we need depends on the service you choose. For Hosting & Care, we’ll need access to your website’s domain within Cloudflare so we can connect and manage the website correctly. We do not need access to your entire Cloudflare account.
For a redesign, we’ll need the original website and details about what you want to keep, improve, update or replace. For a brand-new website, we’ll need information about your products or services, the story behind your business and any other details you want customers to see.
For every service, we’ll need your name, business name, email address and a clear description of what your business does.
03When does the three-business-day period begin?
Once we’ve discussed your project, confirmed what you would like and received payment, your website will enter our production schedule. Work will officially begin on the next working day, and this is when the three-business-day creation period starts.
This gives us a clear starting point and allows us to focus properly on turning your ideas into a polished, professional website.
04How many revisions are included?
During the three-business-day creation period, we’ll make as many reasonable revisions as needed to shape the website around your vision. You’ll receive updates throughout the process and can tell us what feels right, what needs adjusting and what should be refined.
At the end of the three-business-day period, the website will be completed and treated as the agreed final product. If you would like further updates afterwards, you can choose our £50-per-month Hosting & Care package, which includes hosting and two small changes of up to 45 minutes each per paid month.
05What counts as a small change?
A small change is a straightforward update that can be completed without redesigning the website or creating new functionality. This could include replacing existing text, updating contact details, changing prices, swapping an image or correcting information already displayed on the website.
Each change can involve up to 45 minutes of work. Requests that require new layouts, additional pages, custom features or major design decisions would be discussed and quoted separately.
06Will I receive all of my website files?
Absolutely. Payment is made before work begins, and once your website has been completed, you’ll receive a complete copy of every file used to create it. This means you are never permanently tied to DB Sites or required to continue using our hosting.
You can choose DB Sites Hosting & Care, move the website to another provider or manage it independently. Your website remains yours, giving you complete freedom over where it is hosted and how it is managed in the future.
07Is a domain name included in the price?
The cost of purchasing a domain name is not included in the website package. Domain prices can vary depending on the name and extension you choose, so customers will need to purchase their domain separately.
Buying the domain in your own name means you remain its registered owner and retain complete control over it. If you choose the DB Sites Hosting & Care package, we’ll connect the finished website to your domain for you. Without the package, you’ll receive all the website files and can connect them through your chosen hosting provider.
08Which payment methods are accepted?
We accept payment by card for all customers. Cash payments are also available for customers based locally who can arrange payment in person.
Full payment is required before work begins. Once we’ve discussed your requirements and payment has been received, your project will be scheduled to begin on the next working day.
09What happens if I change my mind?
Once work has begun, payments are normally non-refundable because time, planning and resources will already have been committed to creating your website. This does not affect any rights you may have under applicable consumer law.
You can still adjust the direction of the project during the three-business-day creation period. Small changes to the style, layout or approach are welcome, provided the revised direction remains reasonably close to the original project agreed with DB Sites. A completely different project may require a new quote.
10Why might a website cost more than £250?
The final price depends on the size and complexity of your website, as well as the amount of design and development work required. A relatively straightforward five-page website will normally start from £250.
Larger or more demanding projects will cost more. For example, a ten-page website, a more complex layout or a project requiring significantly more time and custom work would receive a higher personalised quote. We’ll discuss your requirements and confirm the complete price before any payment is made, so there are no unexpected costs.
